vCard (contact) QR code generator

A vCard QR code lets anyone save your full contact details, including name, phone, email, company, and more, to their phone in one scan, with no typing required.

How to create a vCard QR code

  1. Open the Contact tab. Choose Contact to switch the form to the vCard fields. Only a name or phone number is required.
  2. Add your name and phone. Enter at least a full name or a phone number. These are the details phones use to create the new contact.
  3. Fill in email, company and role. Add your email, company, job title, website, and address to make the saved card as complete as you need.
  4. Check the preview. The code updates as you type. Confirm it looks correct and that the details are accurate before printing.
  5. Download and share. Save a PNG for email signatures and screens, or an SVG for business cards. Nothing is uploaded.

How to create a contact QR code

This tool builds a standard vCard 3.0 record, the format that iOS, Android, and desktop address books all understand. Scanning it opens the “Add contact” screen with your fields pre filled.

Everything beyond a name or phone number is optional, so you can keep the card minimal, or include your company, job title, website, and address for a full business card experience.

Where a vCard QR code shines

Add it to a printed business card, an email signature, a conference badge, or the last slide of a deck. People save your details without slowing the conversation to type them in.

Because the data lives inside the code, it works offline and never expires, which is perfect for material you print once and hand out for months.

Digital business card, no app needed

A vCard code is the simplest digital business card. There is no app to install and no account to create, so it works for everyone you meet, regardless of phone.

Update the code whenever your details change by generating a fresh one. Keep it printed on cards you have not used up, and refresh the version on your email signature.

Getting the details right

Phones save exactly what the code contains, so double check the spelling of your name and the digits in your phone number before you print a large batch.

If privacy matters, leave out your home address and include only what you want a stranger to keep. A work email and phone number are usually enough.

Track who saves your card

A vCard code itself does not report scans. To measure interest, add a URL code that points at a fewly short link to your online profile or a downloadable card.

That approach turns a networking moment into a trackable click, so you can see how many people followed up and from where.

Frequently asked questions

What is a vCard QR code?
It is a QR code that encodes a digital business card (vCard). Scanning it offers to save the person's contact details to your phone's address book.
Which fields can I include?
Name, phone, email, company, job title, website, and address. Only a name or phone number is required.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Both platforms recognize vCard 3.0 codes and show an “Add contact” prompt when scanned.
Can I make a vCard for a company, not a person?
Yes. Use the company name as the name field, or set the company field and leave the personal details light. It saves as a normal contact either way.
Does scanning save the contact automatically?
No. The phone shows an “Add contact” preview first, so the person chooses to save it.
Does a vCard QR code expire?
No. It is static, so it keeps working for as long as you use it, with no link to break.
